I am very excited to serve as the principal at Monroe! Everyday, I look forward to working with the great staff, awesome students and supportive parents that make Monroe the wonderful place that it is.
This year is my third year as Monroe’s principal. Originally from the St. Louis, Missouri area, I moved to Minnesota to attend Bethel University. I graduated with an Elementary Education teaching degree. I began my career teaching 5th grade for 2 years and 6th grade for 5 years. I attended Saint Mary’s University to obtain my Master’s Degree and Principal’s license. I spent 7 years as an administrator in schools in the Twin Cities before starting at Monroe in the 2014-15 school year.
Outside of school, I enjoy being with my family, spending time outside and playing sports. My wife, Kim, is an elementary PE teacher and we have 2 daughters. Chloe is a 4th grader and Elsie is in 2nd grade. We love to get outside to ride bikes, visit parks throughout the state and go to Valleyfair. We are busy throughout the year with school activities, sports, and acting lessons, among other activities.
At Monroe, our staff members are committed to meeting the needs of all students. We are able to do this through getting to know each student’s needs and find ways to challenge them. We hope that you have a great 2016-17 school year! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns or praises. You may stop in the office, email me at or call 507-387-7889. I look forward to working with you and helping your student have a successful year.
